Cavalleria Rusticana plot
Young Tiruddu returns to his native village in Sicily after his military service. His fiancée Lola, however, turns out to be married to a wealthy businessman in the meantime. But Lola is also secretly in love with Tiruddu and starts an affair with him. Santuzza, who in turn is in love with Tiruddu again, becomes jealous and tells Lola's husband that he is being cheated on.
