Carmen plot

Don José de Lizzarabengoa cheats with cards and has to choose the harepath. He ends up in the army and rises to quartermaster of the regiment of Almanza in Seville. He has to escort cigar maker Carmen to prison. Carmen is an endearing beauty, a gypsy who belongs to Dancaire's gang. A gang that makes the mountains of Andalusia unsafe.
