Brass plot

A young man born in the country leaves his family farm to go into business in the city. He marries for the first time when he is very young, finds the match a failure, divorces, and starts life over. The hopelessness of life as far as a happy marriage is concerned forces itself upon the young man, whose only brief period of happiness was when he lived with a woman who truly loved him and made sacrifices for him.
