Boy Called Twist plot

"The Story of a Cape Town street-kid, based on Dickens' classic novel Oliver Twist"

A foundling on the doorstep of the orphanage. They call him Twist (after the famous Oliver) and the boy becomes a toy in the hands of corrupt adults. After yet another flight, Twist ends up in the city and ends up under the wing of Fagin, the leader of a gang of thugs. It all seems like a game: the free-spirited fun among each other, the intoxication of the glue, the cheerful life on the street, a safe roof over one's head and the good care of street hooker Nancy. But without realizing it, Twist is constantly being watched by prying eyes.
