During World War I, nurse Doris Kendall meets handsome pilot Captain Barry Craig in London. She becomes pregnant with him, but Barry disappears during a mission and has been missing ever since. Doris has to bear and raise her child alone. After some time, Doris gets to know the disabled English officer Sir Wilfred Drake and marries him. Not long after, Doris's true love Barry returns, causing many complications.
