A fine Dutch youth film, that may be said. Sometimes a bit too difficult for my youngest daughter of six, but she found it very interesting.
I thought so too. The subject is a charged one and it is easy to elaborate on it and fall into the trap of too much drama. Fortunately, director Margien Rogaar does not do that. Although not every storyline is equally successful, the big picture works and it is all presented in a pleasant and subtle way.
The acting is variable, the direction is reasonable, but the characters are generally portrayed quite well and in combination with the subtle approach, it all works.

What a beautiful movie. Beautifully shot, good acting, I think especially the little girl's acting is very natural, and an interesting theme that is educational, but the film is not pedantic in a boring, annoying way. It managed to touch me. A gem! 4.5*
