Body and Soul plot

"He burned his name into the white flesh of the woman he loved."

A disgraced alcoholic surgeon settles in a small village in the Swiss Alps. He falls for Hilda, a clerk at the hotel where he lives. He tricks her into marrying him by making her think her lover, Ruffo, has abandoned her. However, things don't go quite as planned when Ruffo suddenly returns.
