Blooming Flowers plot

A 98-year-old woman is dying in New York. Her granddaughter has taken over the household and one day she finds a diary with a story from her grandmother: the story of the “Blooming Flowers”. The roots of this story go way back in time. In 1935, her grandmother was a journalist on her way to a remote village on the border of China and Cambodia. Here the inhabitants discussed the mystical, spiritual and mysterious past of the village. She seems unable to stop reading and as the story progresses she notices strange things happening around her.
