This was also on TV and because I hadn't seen this movie yet, I watched it. I didn't know much about it, but I was fascinated by the film. The beginning and the end were strong, in the middle the film slumped a bit.

The cast did not do a bad job and did come across as convincing.

Not a bad movie, but not a masterpiece either.

Watched this one as I was going to see Supernova - I was curious about the director's other work. And actually it is exactly as I feared a bit and as I see more often in Dutch art house productions. There, silences are confused with meaningful silences, which sometimes really drags the film. That wouldn't happen to someone like Hitchcock, who knew exactly what pace he needed to stay interesting. Movies like Vertigo and North by Northwest are perfectly made movies in that regard.

Well, so Blind. Lots of slow scenes, lots of silences (which feel like silence to be quiet after) and two protagonists who don't do much for me. I have never been a fan of Halina (as an ugly girl she is excellently cast, but you would also have the make-up for that) and I also think of this... Or actually I don't think anything, because she doesn't bother me either . Also no irritation like with DWDD, but she doesn't evoke any emotion either. And then the Fleming, who I find only moderately spooning his texts, and also has an annoying voice. Sometimes I love Flemish, when they give snooker commentary for example, but sometimes I find that accent too striking to go along with it. In addition, Seldeslachs (a nice name by the way) has a voice that is too heavy for this role. And finally, I didn't really understand his tantrums at first.

Nevertheless, you can see that Van den Dop can do something and has taste, because it is mainly loose fragments that are strong. The anxiety attacks are nicely done and the framing often looks tight. The music is also fine (more than fine even) and the film really has its moments. Only the negative points predominate just a little too much. 2.0*.

Dark drama about the budding relationship between damaged young people. The camera and acting are quite okay, but the story didn't really appeal to me. This is especially true for the ending.
