The film gives Snow White a new look, both figuratively and literally. Not only is the story cast in black and white style, the story itself has also been adapted. And I think only Spanish films can apparently get away with a non-discriminatory storyline involving dwarfs. A film like this also has to rely on acting and facial expressions that are quite good. And also the use of light by relying solely on black and white. That's not so bad. Some nice scenes, but the whole is not always strong. The film sauce about the well-known fairy tale is original, but I would have liked to see more spice. Anyway, enjoyed it, but expected more.

Blancanieves reminds me a bit of The Artist (2011) where silent film was given a contemporary twist. Quite coincidentally it also came out at about the same time. Very enjoyable film to watch. There is something nostalgic about a silent film and this is beautifully expressed in Blancanieves. Blancanieves is a contemporary retelling of the famous fairy tale Snow White.

The setting of the 1920s in Seville is beautiful and the bullring and bullfights are beautifully depicted. The classical or symphonic music, typical of silent films, is well expressed here on the rhythm of the bull and the toreador.

There are no dialogues, so extra attention must be paid to the visual aspect or the facial expressions of the actors/actresses. Good editing and cinematography make it an enjoyable viewing. Definitely enjoyed these Blancanieves. Nice!

This is a very striking film. A black and white film and then a silent film. You don't come across this much anymore.

Now the story of Snow White was still originally adapted to the world of bullfights. The cast did well and the music was also appropriate.

It is certainly one that stands out.
