Blacktown plot
"Love is a hard place to find."
Nikki Brice lives in Blacktown, in the far west of Sydney. Her on-again, off-again relationship with married Peter disappoints her and she decides to break up with him. She is so emotionally hurt that she has given up all hope of ever experiencing anything worthwhile. After a misleading and disturbing blind date - arranged for her by one of her colleagues - she meets the charismatic Tony, an Aboriginal, ex-con and ex-alcoholic, who makes a living as a social worker and bus driver. He senses her loneliness and emerging self-destruction and she reluctantly accepts to go out to dinner with him. Slowly her life takes a different turn.
