Black Sheep plot
"Like father... Like son"
On the second-class deck of the passenger ship SS Olympus Southampton, wealthy debutante Janette Foster attracts the attention of men by attempting to use an unfilled cigarette lighter. Janette gets a fire from cynical professional gambler John Francis Dugan. When Dugan learns who she is, he tries to avoid Janette because of her bad reputation, but they still become friends and together they slip into first class. There they see young Fred Curtis losing $12,000 at poker to wealthy oil barons Colonel Upton Calhoun Belcher and Orville Schmelling. Then Fred's mistress Millicent Caldwell Bath blackmails him.
