"A RIP-ROARINGLY FUNNY ROMANTIC SCRAMBLE!"
Ambitious young actress Caroline "Carrie" Bishop and her manager Mike Kilinsky travel from Chicago to Long Island. Carrie goes there to visit the new house her mother Christine "Chris" Bishop has just bought. Chris isn't there when Carrie arrives, but Gallagher, the black sheep of the family, is. Gallagher tells Carrie that Chris is in love with the very wealthy Steven J. Forbes. Chris confesses to Carrie that she lied to Steven about her own age and that of her daughter. Carrie insists that her mother must keep up this masquerade. Complications are bound to happen when Steven comes to visit with his friend Jimmy Blake.
