Two years have passed since Kari decided not to leave America and stay in Tandern. She and Jo are still best friends. Now that school is over, they want to travel the world. Kati has a bit more trouble with this decision, because her great love has just returned to Tandern. Once on the road, the car breaks down. And then Kati also gets to hear that her grandfather is dying. Now they must return, putting their friendship to the test.
