Berlin um die Ecke plot

East Berlin, in the mid-sixties. Friends Olaf (Dieter Mann) and Horst (Kaspar Eichel) are members of the youth brigade of a large metal company. They represent a generation that makes demands on (Communist) society; seeking recognition. The older generation does not understand these requirements. Added to this are the problems in the company: constant shortage of materials, poor organization, lack of motivation. The only one who gives confidence to the young workers is the quiet older worker Paul Krautmann (Erwin Geschonneck).
