Beneath the Silence plot

Israel 1973. Six years after the Six Day War, Menashe is still deeply traumatized by his experiences as a soldier. He withdraws from society and drives around aimlessly for hours in his red pickup. Menashe's young wife Daphna and their 10-year-old son Shlomi suffer from his silence and rejection. Daphna tries to get through to her husband and bring him back into the family. She even contacts the military authorities and fights bitterly for some support. But it's all in vain. When the Yom Kipper War breaks out, Menashe must fight back - his life is in danger and his family is eventually falling apart...
