"SEARING DRAMA!"
Editor Vic Archer (Robert Armstrong) assigns intern Jeff Flavin (Frank Albertson) to the old hand in the trade Stuart Woodrow (Lloyd Nolan), where he mainly gets on his nerves. Jeff has always had a great admiration for Woodrow, but the cynical and unprofessional attitude into which he has now fallen saddens him. Woodrow, in turn, tries to rid Jeff of his idealism and leave journalism. Despite this, Jeff saves Woodrow's reputation by putting a first in Woodrow's name. When Jeff discovers the truth about a sensational murder case through one of his talents, he tries to bring Woodrow into the investigation, hoping not only to solve the murder, but also to save Woodrow's ideals and career.
