Bayou plot
"Somewhere, a 15-year old girl may be a teenager... in the Cajun country, she's a woman full-grown! ...and every Bayou man knows it!"
A community of poor Cajun fishermen lives on a secluded bay. One of them is attractive 15-year-old Marie Hebert, who wants a better life, but is constantly harassed by the unwelcome intimacies of the sinister shopkeeper Ulysses. One day, Marie meets New York City architect Martin Davis. Marie falls in love with Martin, but the embittered Ulysses has no intention of accepting a Yankee rival.
