1914, a small village in Hungary. Sándor, the editor of the local newspaper, is on duty as a foot soldier on Sundays. In his spare time he seeks contact with young women and he plays billiards. One Sunday, when he is in uniform, he meets the beautiful maidservant Vilma. What begins as his umpteenth affair threatens to turn into real love.
