Baishey Shravana plot

Priyanath lives quite happily alone with his mother and earns a living by selling all kinds of goods on the trains to and from Calcutta. When he reaches middle age, he has a bride arranged for him at the insistence of his mother. After a while he gets on very well with the still young Malati, but then disaster begins to strike. During a sudden, very severe storm, his mother is killed, and famine and the Second World War also invade Priyanath's life.
