Simona left the Lithuanian countryside a few years ago, but returns when she hears that her grandmother, who raised her, is dying. She is received with mixed feelings by her parents, who now mainly argue. Her father was once in prison, which caused her mother to ruin her life with drink. Simona's feelings towards her parents are colored by her childhood experiences, which we learn more about during her short stay.
