"When things that don't seem to matter anymore, mattered"
Anthony Rodriguez is a half Italian, half Puerto Rican teenager who grew up on the streets of Brooklyn Bensonhurst, a then highly racist and dangerous neighborhood full of bullies, hotheads and social clubs, a neighborhood where gunshots are regularly fired. Anthony had to endure an abusive, unemployed, alcohol-addicted father, but was blessed with a caring, hard-working mother whom he loses at a very young age, something that doesn't leave him unmarked. He is soon taken under the wing of local mob boss Enzo Agostino, who supports Anthony's dream to conquer his demons and hires a trainer to help him box.
