After serving time in juvenile detention, 18-year-old Wellington [João Pedro Mariano] must survive on his own in the outside world. He meets Ronaldo [Ricardo Teodoro] who teaches him to survive on the streets by, among other things, earning money as a prostitute and selling drugs. The relationship between Wellington and Ronaldo is put under high pressure when drug criminal Torres [Luis Bertazzo] begins to gain more and more influence over Wellington. Won quite a few awards, but given the lack of story (and many unnecessary sex scenes) it's hard to see why.

We thought this was a good movie.

You'll get a better idea of what it's like in the MEGA city of Sao Paulo.

The boy plays really well, but his co-stars are also acting at their best.

Especially the boy's mother, who is only briefly in the picture, but plays as if it were just 'real life'.

You often feel like you're watching a documentary, because their acting seems so natural and real.

The gay theme is rather sad. Many men and transvestites try to survive in the city of millions with sex, drugs, and dance performances.

Not something to really be happy about, I think.
