Au Fond des Bois plot
In 1865, the drifter Timothee arrives in a village in the south of France. He pretends to be deaf and dumb. In the village, he is overwhelmed by the beauty of a young woman, Josephine, and asks her father, Dr. Hughes, if he can stay with them for a while. At dinner, he performs some strange tricks that provoke strange reactions from Josephine. The next day he returns when she is alone and puts her in a state of hypnotic lethargy before abusing her. Overwhelmed by his powerful hypnotic abilities, Josephine follows him, even though she loathes and fears him. He takes her deep into the woods and abuses her over and over until he is arrested and tried. But how come Josephine agreed to follow him?
