Antarjali Jatra plot
India, 1830. A father encourages his daughter to marry a dying man to inherit his wealth. She is expected to perform an ancient Hindu ritual in which the widow throws herself on her deceased husband's funeral pyre. The British colonial government has banned the ritual. Someone tries to persuade the woman to give up the idea that will lead to her death. And then something unexpected happens.
