Anni Struggenti plot

The Sicilian Saverio Bivona goes to Rome to apply for a job as a teacher. He meets a girl, he falls in love and his fiancée in Sicily is soon forgotten. His father tries to change his mind, but it is too late. Saverio even refuses to answer questions from the examination board.
