Ann Carver's Profession plot

"Pity me... I had love -- and threw it away!"

After graduating from Hampden University, American football star William Bill "Lightning" Graham becomes an architect. Ann Carver, who has just graduated from law school, is getting married to Bill. Instead of pursuing a career as a lawyer, Ann becomes a housewife. One day, when Ann is asked to join a complicated lawsuit, she accepts the offer and wins. She becomes an instant success and a darling of the media. Meanwhile, Bill's career stagnates and Ann supports him financially, reducing the couple's time together. Bill decides to take a second job to make more money at the Club Mirador. Bill meets the sexy singer and alcoholic Carole Rogers there and he immediately falls in love with her. Carole seduces Bill just as his wife Ann is visiting him at the Club Mirador.
