An Englishman in New York plot
The story of the last years of British author and entertainer Quentin Crisp. This flamboyant icon of the gay entertainment world lived in New York during the 1970s. There he was immediately embraced and soon a familiar face at the Manhattan parties. He befriends young Patrick, who confronts him about his flight from human relations. His life blossoms until he makes himself unpopular by making hateful comments about AIDS. Singer Sting briefly resurrects his star by making him the subject of his song 'Englishman in New York'.
