Stephen Rojack (Stuart Whitman), a former war hero, is a professor and a well-known television personality, married to the immensely wealthy Deborah (Eleanor Parker). During an argument that gets out of hand, Rojack kills his wife. He uses his influence to cover up his crime and his wife's death is classed as suicide. However, Rojack didn't count on the intense anger and jealousy he provokes when he knocks on his mistress (Janet Leigh)...
