An African Dream plot

The story is set in South Africa around 1920, when the country was still a British colony and apartheid was rampant. English school teacher Katherine Hastings is disillusioned with the way blacks are treated by whites. She befriends Khatana, a black man. However, her naive orientation creates problems for her and for those she cares about.
