An Affair of the Follies plot

Young husband Jerry, a clerk, loses his job. To finance the household, his wife Tamara returns to her old job as a dancer. Jerry doesn't like it at all, which causes the two to break up. One evening the clerk and an inventor friend are having dinner at a restaurant. The inventor complains that he has a great invention, but has no access to a millionaire named Hammersley, whom he wants to ask for financial support. Coincidentally, Hammersley is sitting one table away in the restaurant. The three start talking and become friends. However, Jerry is unaware that Hammersley is having an affair with Tamara. Complications arise.
