Amor de Perdição plot

Simão Botelho loves Teresa de Albuquerque, but her father wants her to marry cousin Baltazar. The two lovers meet in secret. Baltazar pays a thug to kill his rival, who severely wounds Simão. Baltazar intervenes himself and this time the two rivals will fight each other themselves. Simão kills Baltazar and is sent to prison. Teresa is forced to live in a monastery. While in prison, Simão is visited by Mariana da Cruz, who also secretly loves Simão. Mariana treats him and helps him to escape. Simão is then sentenced to imprisonment in Portuguese India, which is equivalent to a death sentence, to serve as a penal worker there.
