Amok plot

dr. Holk leads a secluded life in a small Dutch colony in the tropics, with only his work and alcohol to get through the days. In one of the villages he visits, the population suffers from a strange disease that makes them possessed: Amok. One day he is visited by a beautiful young woman who wants to abort her child before her husband comes home. dr. Holk refuses, whereupon she seeks refuge with a Chinese man.
