Amok plot

Goa 1939, after having done a lot of good work, but embittered by the misery, a German doctor doesn't feel like it anymore. However, he finds a special traveler in his waiting room. It is a beautiful woman from Europe (Fanny Ardant). Obsessed with her aloof demeanor, the doctor imagines all sorts of things. He proposes that she spend the night with him, but the woman refuses and flees the practice. Sad but determined, the doctor decides to bring her back.
