Alwin auf der Landstraße plot

Precisely at the beginning of the summer holidays, Alwin is placed under house arrest and he has to do spelling exercises from his strict father. He has to buffalo while the other children are allowed to go swimming. Alwin feels like a prisoner and runs away. He wants to cycle to his grandparents in the Harz, a distance of more than 200 kilometers.
