Alternate Ground plot

After disappearing in the middle of the night, thirteen-year-old Riley is found unconscious on the street the next morning. He has no idea how he got there. Gradually, the boy loses time, behaves strangely at school, suffers from nightmares and acts out things he doesn't actually do. Riley's father Arthur decides to take him to the hospital and his mother Joyce consults a psychic. However, the family becomes desperate as Riley continues to deteriorate. What happened to him and why is he acting so strangely? Is it a medical condition or something beyond human understanding?
