Al Canto del Cucù plot

The young Carlo Corda (Ettore Cella) manages to survive in Zurich by selling chestnuts. He knows little about his family, but thinks he has a rich uncle in America. Carlo is overjoyed when he discovers that this uncle really exists and has also donated him 100,000 dollars. However, to get this money, Carlo has to help rebuild their neglected native village of Monti di Conca. He immediately enlists the help of mechanic Emil, businessman Max and painter Jean, his three unemployed friends.
