Adieu Pays plot

During the summer in a Yonne Valley town, Fanny, a little girl, shares the story of two brothers Vincent and Serge, who are scarred for life by the sudden death of their father. It has become a matter of honor for Serge to keep the sawmill going, while Vincent becomes more involved with a young woman named Carole Barthoulot. Fanny observes and sees Vincent fall in love with Carole and gradually become more and more distant from the things that bind him to the town. Serge becomes aware that he is in danger of losing Vincent and tries to stop it.
