Achhut Kanya plot

The film opens on a railroad crossing where a man tries to kill his wife. The story then goes back in time and shows the unhappy relationship between Kasturi, the daughter of a railway crossing guard, and Pratap, the son of a grocer. They have been bosom friends since childhood, but come from different classes. They both marry someone else, but they are unable to forget their childhood sweetheart.
