During the funeral of Leona Mancini, the wife of mob boss Carlo, the FBI screens all the guests. Their investigation yields results, because one of the guests turns out to be Joey Mancini, Carlo's son who disappeared without a trace thirteen years ago after he became the prime suspect in a murder case. Detective Louis Stamos discovers that Joey has built a new and successful life: he runs a construction company as James Stockton. Joey's carefully built existence is now in danger of falling apart because not only do the police suspect James, his wife Lisa also becomes suspicious when she finds a photo from his past life.
