A Woman in Grey plot

Retired lawyer Wilfred Amory buys a mysterious house, where he believes his late father has hidden a fortune. Ruth Hope, an elegant lady in grey, introduces herself and claims to be in possession of a secret code, one of two, that reveals the location of the treasure. A villain, J. Havilland Hunter, possesses the second code and has hired gangsters to kidnap Ruth and seize her half. Tom Thurston, Amory's secretary and trusted confidant, must save Ruth from the jaws of death.
