A provincial town is startled by a murderer who is after people from the newspaper world. Journalist Dan Walker (Joe Penny) begins his own quest, aided by businesswoman Liz Bartlett (Loni Anderson). He falls in love with her, but also gets the suspicion that she has more to do with the case.
