An Englishman has worked in the United States for so long that he now speaks with an American accent. During the second world war he is injured and loses his memory. Because of his American accent, the authorities send him to the US where he is taken in by a New York family. After the war, he and the American family travel across Europe in search of the woman he still remembers, hoping to regain his memory.
