A Rózsa Enekei plot

Budapest in the fall of 1944. In an old villa in the hills around the city, 14-year-old Timmy lives with his family, along with other Jewish families in hiding from the Nazis. The situation is desperate, but the villa's owner, the world-famous opera singer Imre Rose, gives the hidden people hope, even if only for a few minutes a week. Imre Rose, who herself is of Jewish descent, refuses to leave himself and to remain in Budapest despite the great risk and has vowed never to leave his tower room until the occupiers are expelled. Once a week he opens the window and sings an aria. As long as Imre Rose is still alive and singing every week, the situation is not completely hopeless.
