A Rather English Marriage plot

Reggie Conyngham-Jervis (Finney) is an ex-RAF commander who neglects himself and his home after the death of his wife. A social worker recommends a roommate to him and this becomes Roy, also a widower, ex-milk man and a caring type. A friendship develops between the two men, although Reggie treats Roy more like a servant.
