A Petal on the Current plot

Stella goes to a party on her friend's recommendation. The friend wants to set Stella up with a shy boy there. He doesn't show up, and Stella drinks beer for the first time. On the way home, she is stopped by a police officer for drunkenness and prostitution. She is sentenced to ten days in prison.
