A Medal for Benny plot
From a poor family of Italian descent, lazy Benny Martin is ostracized and chased by the elites of a small Southern California town and sees no other option than to join the military. Benny is subsequently killed and now he is posthumously honored by the residents of his ancient city for his heroism and they prepare for a "Congressional Medal of Honor" ceremony. Benny's father Charley now also gets all the credit from the residents, but his ex-girlfriend Lolita Sierra resists the hypocritical behavior of the residents.
