A Measure of the Sin plot

Meredith loses her mother and is left desperate and alone. She must join a household with other women and their children, where every facet of her existence is controlled by a sinister man. She is also tormented by a black bear that only she can see. Life in this world just keeps getting weirder and more horrible and Meredith realizes she has to run. Even though she fears she cannot survive alone.
