A Love Sublime plot

Philip, a Greek man, falls in love with Toinette, a French woman he meets during a car accident. Toinette is admitted to the hospital, and a nurse mistakenly tells Philip that she is dead. Philip continues to sing every night under the window of her hospital room. One night, the leader of a gang, who frequents a nearby park, is stabbed. He is treated by the same doctor as Toinette. The doctor recognizes Philip as the man who handed him a pack of cigarettes during a previous hospital stay. The criminal tells Philip that his beloved is still alive.
