A Girl of the Limberlost plot

Eleanora is a 15-year-old girl who grows up in a swampy and remote area. She lives with her widowed mother Kate. Eleanora has big plans for the future. However, those plans do not match the ideas of her mother, who wants to keep her at home. When taxes are raised, Eleanora is no longer allowed to go to school, but has to work on the farm. The relationship between her and her mother deteriorates and ends in total estrangement.
